Join the Kentucky Conference Volunteers in Mission team for a conference-wide mission trip to Belize April 30 - May 7, 2016.
For the last two years, the Kentucky Annual Conference has partnered with Belize Methodist Church to provide resources to build the Belmopan Methodist High School. The mission team will work with Jamie & Lisa Williams, who are United Methodist missionaries from Kentucky now serving in the Central American country of Belize. The trip is open to persons from any Kentucky Conference church.
The team will be working with the Methodist Church of Belize to help complete the construction of the Methodist High School in the country's capital of Belmopan, as well as building relationships between Methodists in Kentucky and Belize. While having some team members with construction skills would be helpful, no special skills are necessary for the trip. However, a person must be able and willing to do manual labor. Total cost for the trip, per person will be about $1800 ($1400 plus $400 fundraising for supplies).
To apply to be a part of the team, please fill out the application( click here to download application), a medical release form (click here to download medical release form), and an authorization for a background check (click to download release of information form).
Return the application by mail by February 10. Team Leader is Tami Coleman(email@example.com), Associate Director of Connectional Ministries. Please return your application by February 10. Mail form to:

The Kentucky Conference Youth and Young Adult Mission Trip is going back to Honduras in 2016. Conference youth and young adults, along with pastors, youth pastors, and adult volunteers will travel to Honduras to continue the work our conference has been doing there for the past five summers. High school students who have completed their freshman year and young adults are encouraged to go and share the love of Christ with the people of Honduras.
Our goal is to have at least two youth/young adults who are age 15-35 from each of the 9 districts in the KY Conference. Pastors and youth leaders are also encouraged to go! Talk to your local church and your district superintendent to see what funds they may be able to provide.
The group will gather in Louisville on June 24th, 2016 and leave for Tegucigalpa, Honduras on June 25th. While in Honduras, we will lead Vacation Bible School for the children of the village. In 2015, over 100 children participated! We will also help improve the the village we work in by assisting with the building of latrines, stoves, pilas (they hold clean water), room additions, and with the pouring of concrete floors. We will return to Louisville on July 2nd.
This is an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ as we carry the message of Christ deep into the heart of Honduras. The total cost for the trip (airfare, transportation, meals, supplies, and housing) is $2100 per person. The deadline to register, with a $500 deposit, is March 25th, 2016. Online registration is available now! For further information, you may contact Kevin Burney at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1-800-530-7236.
