Impact KY - Covington District

The Covington District has several Impact projects to choose from.  Select one from the list below to register for that project.  Your project leader will contact you once your information has been received.  Deadline to register to guarantee a T-shirt is August 1, 2014!


1. Barlow UMC Demolition

Ages 14yrs old and up.  This team will tear down a one room church building to the ground.  Tools needed are demo hand tools, power tools for demo, extension cords, ladders, etc.... 40 volunteers needed.

2. Operation Living Water

On this day Cynthiana will be hosting the 3rd Annual Cynthiana Rod Run. There is expected to be over 5000 people visiting this event. Old cars are lined up on Main St and surrounding streets. This team will be flooding the area giving out free bottles of water that have a bible verse on them, and sharing the Good News with those who will receive. 100 volunteers needed.

3. Prayer Walk

This team will go to 4 Elementary Schools, 1 Middle School, 1 High School, Board of Education Building, and The School Bus Garage. A prayer walk around each facility will take place. 100 volunteers needed.

 4. Prayer Walk - #2 Maysville First Responders

Prayer Walk- We will go to several places where 1st responders (Police Dept., Fire Dept., Sheriff's Office, etc.) are housed and have prayer outside the facilities.  We will also go to the hospital and pray for their staff.  All communities in the area are encouraged to take a small group to Fire Stations and have prayer.  For those who are in Maysville, we will meet at Central UMC and drive to the various facilities and pray. The church van holds 12 people so, if more than 12 participate they will need to provide their own transportation.

5. Ruggles Camp

Ruggles Camp- various work projects from lawn care to clean-up of the camp.  Bring work gloves.  There may be outside and inside work.  The time frame is 9:00 am to noon. No limit to the number of volunteers needed.

Painting a preschool classroom.  4 volunteers needed.

 8. Master Provision - Delivery Truck Cleanup

Clean out (inside and out) large delivery trucks (up to 24') that are used for pickup and redistribution of food products.  Good for ages senior high and older. 25 volunteers needed.

 9. Master Provision - Food and Clothing Sort

Sorting and packaging clothing that is redistributed all over the world. Additional opportunities in sorting and packaging food that will be sent to agencies in the local area. Great for families and younger (elementary age and below) children. Unlimited number of volunteers needed.

 10. Trinity UMC - Children's Playground Cleanout

Clean out overgrown playground area used for children.  Outside work. Bring gloves, rakes, cutters, hoes.  Best for junior high and older.  15 volunteers needed.

11. Organize Shoes for WaterStep

WaterStep collects shoes to help fund safe drinking water projects globally.  Kylie Cummings (an FUMC Youth) was inspired at a youth rally to organize this mission project. Volunteers will organize the shoe donations that are received.  Children, who are able. are welcome to volunteer - with adult supervision. 20 volunteers are needed.  Meet at FUMC at 9:15am (volunteer till noon).  More information about WaterStep - www.waterstep.org
