Join the Lexington First UMC and Kentucky Conference Volunteers in Mission team for a conference-wide mission trip to Belize February 4-11, 2017.
For the last three years, the Kentucky Annual Conference has partnered with Belize Methodist Church to provide resources to build the Belmopan Methodist High School. The mission team will work with Jamie & Lisa Williams, who are United Methodist missionaries from Kentucky now serving in the Central American country of Belize. The trip is planned by Lexington First UMC and open to persons from any Kentucky Conference church.
The team will be working with the Methodist Church of Belize to help complete the construction of the Methodist High School in the country's capital of Belmopan, as well as building relationships between Methodists in Kentucky and Belize. While having some team members with construction skills would be helpful, no special skills are necessary for the trip. However, a person must be able and willing to do manual labor. Total cost for the trip, per person will be about $1800 ($1400 plus $400 fundraising for supplies).
