One Great Hour of Sharing is Sunday, March 2, or another Sunday of your choosing for this special and necessary offering.
OGHS makes all of the other United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) programs possible because it funds the costs of doing business for UMCOR. Any gifts that are over and above UMCOR’s administrative costs go to where they are most needed. In other words, OGHS offerings ensure that ministry through UMCOR happens. Often these funds support the underfunded programs.
You can order your OGHS envelopes, posters, refrigerator magnets, and offering boxes by calling 1-888-346-3862 or through the Sharing God’s Gifts web site. There you will also find worship resources, downloadable videos, and stories of how UMCOR is helping people throughout the world.
UMCOR provides emergency relief in many areas of the world. To find out more about UMCOR’s ministry please visit www.umcor.org. You can donate to any project by placing a contribution in the offering plate of your United Methodist Church; by sending a check to UMCOR (P.O. Box 9068, New York, NY 10087-9068); or by calling 1-800-554-8583 where credit card donations are accepted. You can also give online by clicking on any of the “Give Now” links at umc.org. UMCOR is exempt from tax under section 501©(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of the United States and qualifies for the maximum charitable contribution deduction by donors.
Please pray for those across our world who are hungry, sick, or in poverty because of natural and human-caused disasters and for the many workers of Christ who minister to them. For those in Kentucky who wish to volunteer service in any of UMCOR’s ministries, please contact Julie Hagar Love at 1-800-530-7236 or Charlie Douglas at 606-436-3513.
