The Earlington United Methodist Church believes in a healthy body as well as a healthy spirit. This was evident on Sunday, November 18, 2007, as the church conducted its 2nd annual Health Day. Church members Ferris Larsen, M.D., and Faye Brooks, R.N., organized the day and enlisted the help of Robbin Woodruff, R.N. Tests monitoring blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol, and carotid arteries were performed.
The day began with Sunday School and an uplifting church service led by Rev. Ralph Martinez followed by the Third Sunday Luncheon held each month. After lunch, the Social Hall was opened up for the Health Day event. In addition to the health tests provided, literature concerning various health issues was made available and the health professionals answered questions from the participants.
Food, information, and fellowship were the order of the day.
