The Kentucky Council of Churches Annual Assembly was held October 25-26, 2012 at Morehead First United Methodist Church. During the two-day gathering over 100 people were present, at least 15 of whom were United Methodists from the Red Bird, Memphis and Kentucky Annual Conferences. Highlights included:
*Michael Watts (Kentucky Conference treasurer and out-going KCC treasurer) announcing the budget was balanced for the first time in many years.
*The local ministerial association leading in the evening worship service.
*Rev. Jay Smith (Madisonville District) and Rev. Bryan Langlands(Georgetown College) being elected to serve on the Executive Board.
*Rev. Carlos Malave, Executive Director of Christian Churches Together, bringing greetings.
*Leaders from the previous year's theme of "Immigration" being celebrated and commissioned to continue the work.
* A keynote address and several workshops on this year's theme of "The Church and Health" being offered.
*Next year's assembly theme of "Civil Dialogue" being introduced.
*President Rev. Mike Ward encouraging all present to continue the good work of funding with legacy gifts.
