OMC Examples

 

1.       The First United Methodist Church received $50,000 in total income for the month of January 2014. Included in the $50,000 is $1,000 of special offerings, $500 for the Fifth Sunday Offering and $500 for Tornado Relief. Based on this the total for Our Mission Covenant is $7,350 which is 15% of $49,000. The total amount remitted to the Conference is $8,350 which includes the $1,000 for the special offerings. See completed form. 
 
2.       The First United Methodist Church received $50,000 in total income for the month of January 2014. Included in the $50,000 is $1,000 of special offerings ($500 for the Fifth Sunday Offering and $500 for Tornado Relief). During January, the church paid $2,000 for debt retirement on the loan with the bank. Based on this the total for Our Mission Covenant is $7,050 which is 15% of $47,000. The total amount remitted to the Conference is $8,050 which includes the $1,000 for the special offerings. See completed form.
 
3.       The First United Methodist Church received $50,000 in total income for the month of January 2014. Included in the $50,000 is $1,000 of special offerings ($500 for the Fifth Sunday Offering and $500 for Tornado Relief) and $3,000 for capital improvements for the fellowship hall. During January, the church paid $2,000 for debt retirement on the loan with the bank.   Based on this the total of Our Mission Covenant is $6,600 which is 15% of $44,000. The total amount remitted to the Conference is $7,600 which includes the $1,000 for the special offerings. See completed form. 
 
4.       The First United Methodist Church received $55,000 in total income for the month of February 2014. Included in the $55,000 is $500 of special offerings. During February, the church paid $2,000 for debt retirement on the loan with the bank and $3,000 on the capital improvements for the fellowship hall. Based on this the total of Our Mission Covenant is $7,875 which is 15% of $52,500. The amount paid for capital improvements cannot be excluded from income when paid since it was included in the total income in January and listed as one of the excluded items in January, therefore no Our Mission Covenant was calculated on the money received for capital improvements in January. The total amount remitted to the Conference is $8,375 which includes the $500 for the special offerings. See completed form.
 
5.       The First United Methodist Church received $55,000 in total income for the month of February 2014. Included in the $55,000 is $500 of special offerings. During February, the church paid $2,000 for debt retirement on the loan with the bank, $3,000 on the capital improvements for the fellowship hall, and $1,500 on a water heater that needed to be replaced. Based on this the total of Our Mission Covenant is $7,650 which is 15% of $51,000. The amount paid for the water heater can be deducted since no specific funds have been received for this and included as funds received for capital improvements. The total amount remitted to the Conference is $8,150 which includes the $500 for the special offerings. See completed form.
