Committee on Lay Leadership

The work of the Committee on Lay Leadership is very important in the life of a local congregation. This group, chaired by the pastor, has as its responsibility, the identification, development, deployment, and support of the persons who will give leadership in the local church.

One of their tasks is to develop basic job descriptions for the leadership roles in that particular church. Below you will find some generic job descriptions that you may find helpful. Each will list the purpose of the job, some basic responsibilities, and then helpful spiritual/ministry gifts and skills or abilities that will aid in effectiveness in each job. There is a blank space that you could use to input your own information regarding time, place, etc.
