WELCOMING THE STRANGER: REFUGEE SPONSORSHIP
Fall 2010
Three identical workshops presented by the Kentucky Annual Conference Justice Team.
Each workshop explains how congregations can sponsor refugee families settling in Kentucky or help their resettlement in ways that do not require full sponsorship.
Each workshop will begin with registration at 9:30 a.m. and include:
- 10:00 a.m. welcoming remarks and opening devotional
- A keynote presentation, including an overview of the process of churches sponsoring or helping refugee families, followed by questions and answers
- Lunch, provided onsite
- Panel presentation of church members involved in refugee ministry, sharing insights gained from their work with refugee families, followed by discussion and questions
- Adjournment by 2:00 p.m.

Keynote presentation by Dabney Parker, Resource Coordinator, Lexington Office of Kentucky Refugee Ministries
November 20
Hosted by St. James UMC in Bowling Green
Keynote presentation by staff of the International Center of Bowling Green
Cost and Registration
Individual registration fee of $10 per person includes all materials and lunch.
Groups of three or more can pay $20 for the entire group, with each person receiving all materials and lunch - send several people from your church for one bargain price.
