Our continued prayers are with the people of South Carolina and surrounding areas in the midst of severe flooding. We know that you want to help those in the affected area. As we write this today some areas of the state have been re-evacuated and rivers in the lower part of the state are not expected to crest until Sunday night.

Since they are still in a stage of evacuation and assessment and have no way of managing material items (like bottled water, health kits, etc), none have been requested and in fact those who have years of experience in disaster response tell us that at this point those donations would do more harm than good.
What is needed now is:
Eventually we will be sending response and recovery teams to the area and they will need help for months to come as they begin rebuilding. The South Carolina Conference is working to set up a way to receive and organize teams and we will share that with you when it is set.
