Dear Friend of Seminario Wesleyano de Venezuela,
When is the last time you experienced powerful, concrete answers to your specific prayers? I have just witnessed the power of your prayers being demonstrated in remarkable and tangible ways on my last trip to Venezuela!
There are many more illustrations than I can share in one newsletter, but here are a few I want you to know about so you can rejoice with me:
We just celebrated the tenth anniversary of the Seminario Wesleyano de Venezuela with the matriculation of 17 new graduates who over the last 6 years earned a Bachelor’s of Theology Degree.
Medical care is not available in the community (La Piedad Norte) of the Seminary. God has opened the door for us to build a medical clinic on the campus of the Seminary. Through the generosity of the Kentucky Annual Conference of the UMC and some US medical practices, we celebrated groundbreaking for this new facility the day of the graduation. Venezuelan medical doctors who are also graduates of the Seminary are coordinating this effort. Read more. http:/gallery.mailchimp.com/5a6f34035205036edd3c2d610/files/Article_5_Medical_Center.pdf
One of the powerful new additions to the ministry of Venezuela Now, Inc. in the US is the creation of Prayer Partners led by Dr. Gayle Arnold. This is a ministry which is having immediate and lasting impact on the work both here and in Venezuela. While we were in Venezuela, we issued an urgent appeal for $3,000 to be able to finish the Master’s Classroom in time for the first Master’s Class in February, 2012. God miraculously supplied this need from a single gift from a Baptist Evangelistic Association led by one of the great heroes of the faith, Dr. Gene Winfrey. That work is in progress. We are so grateful for this good news.
We just recently were informed we will be the 2013 recipients of the Red Bird Missionary Conference Mission Offering designated for the Clinic. The churches of this conference are in the poorest areas of Appalachia in parts of Eastern Kentucky, West Virginia and Virginia. However, they want to give a sacrificial offering to help in Venezuela. What a great blessing this will be to the even poorer people of Venezuela!
Yours in Mission in Venezuela,
