On April 27, the United Methodist Churches of Taylor County came together togive service to our community. It was an active day with over 500 people volunteering to do all sorts of acts of kindness. We had nineteen children in Bible School. The Blood Drive yielded 55 pints of blood. Our goal was 35 pints!! Our food drive earlier in the month had given us 2 pickup loads of non-perishable foods. They were given away during IMPACT Saturday. The clothes closet gave away a whopping 25,000 items of clothing to 253 families. Flower beds were weeded, parcels were packed to send to our Service men. Ladies of First UMC had been knitting washcloths for months to be included in the packages. We had been asked to paint the benches in the park. Due to the weather that job was postponed until April 11.
