November 07, 2013

As many of you know, I have been dealing with a very rare form of cancer since 2004. On this journey, I have had three surgeries. I also get scanned on a regular basis at Emory University in Atlanta. I have been blessed over these nine years with two terrific surgeons. The cancer started in my left leg, but has metastasized to both lungs. I had surgery on my left lung in 2011 and now I am getting ready to have the same wedge resection procedure done on my right lung.

The surgery is set for early the morning of November 18, at Emory Midtown hospital. I will be in the hospital for about three days and should be able to travel back home to Kentucky by the end of the week. I expect to be out of the office for a couple of weeks recovering. I am blessed with a wonderful team of people who work with me, so the important ministries of our area will not miss a beat. I look forward to a complete recovery and continued ministry. There is no chemotherapy available for the type of soft tissue sarcoma I have. I am blessed that there are surgical interventions which can help.
During this season of Thanksgiving, I am grateful for many things - my faith in Christ, a loving and very patient wife, a strong family and many friends. I am thankful for Christian people who surround me with their prayers. So, do not worry about me - simply pray.
 Blessings,
 Lindsey
