Each of the four sessions of Winter Blitz 2016 featured high energy worship music brought to us by the praise band Rush of Fools, and a message by Brooklyn Lindsey and the artistic interpretations of sand artist, Joe Castillo.

The crowd of over 1,000 youth and young adults came from churches throughout our conference, as well as, other denominations that came out to experience the spirit of Christ permeating throughout Broadbent Arena.

Saturday afternoon, fifteen of our youth groups did mission work around the city of Louisville, KY. Groups did things as varied as serving meals at The Table; cleaning freezers and restocking shelves at the Eastern Area Community Ministries; and moving furniture for the Kentucky Refugee Ministry.

Saturday night after all groups had reconvened back at Broadbent Arena, during the worship service, an altar call was issued and dozens of youth, from middle school to college aged, responded. Whenever people, young or old, openly profess there love of Christ and offer to turn their lives over to him it is a beautiful moment and Saturday night was no exception. Youth leaders and other clergy prayed with those that came forward.

Sunday morning was our last session of Winter Blitz 2016. Bishop Lindsey Davis and Director of Connectional Ministries Rev. Julie Love lead us in Holy Communion. After communion Rev. Kevin Burney, Director of Ministerial Services, asked any youth or young adults that felt they were being called into ministry to come forward and over 40 young people responded. With so many young people exploring ministry as a vocation, the future of the United Methodist Church in Kentucky looks bright.

We look forward to seeing everyone at Winter Blitz 2017!
