The Pan Methodist Ecumenical Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018. The schedule for the day includes registration and brunch at 11:00 A.M., adult workshops and a youth forum starting at 12 Noon, a re-enactment of a civil rights march at 1:15 P.M. and worship service starting at 1:30 P.M. Children and youth are encouraged to participate in the poster and essay contest, churches are invited to nominate a person for the 2018 Civil Rights Award.
11:00 A.M. – 12 Noon – Registration and Lunch
12 Noon – 1:00 P.M. – Adult Workshops and Youth Forum
1:15 P.M. – Youth Re-enactment of the Civil Rights March
1:30 P.M. Ecumenical Worship Service – Recognition of 2018 Pan Methodist Civil Rights Award Winner and Youth/Children Poster Contest winners.
Our theme is “Faith Communities in the Midst of the Dream.” We look forward to the information that will be shared through our workshops and the Word of God that will inspire us to continue the work of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr
Youth Directors and Christian Education Directors are asked to encourage students over the Holidays to write their essays and prepare their poster. Youth and children are also encouraged to make signs for the Re-enactment of the Civil Rights March and bring them to the event.
We will have again this year our “Assist a Soul” ministry and are asking you to bring a seasonal wrap to help keep those needing help warm during the winter months. We will box the donations and deliver them to one of our City’s shelters.
Please send by January 2, 2018 to msjanbt@aol.com, 2 -3 clear photos of your congregation/ministry activities to include in this year’s video presentation.
