June 23-July 1 another Kentucky Conference UMC group will be working in a village in the Agalta Valley of Honduras. We work with the organization called HOI (hoi.org). Youth and young adults, along with people who do ministry with them, are encouraged to come along. Youth need to have completed their freshman year in high school to be able to go with us.

On June 23^rd we will fly from Louisville, KY to Houston, TX and then to San Pedro Sula, Honduras.  After we arrive in San Pedro Sula, we’ll travel about 3 hours to La Ceiba, where we will stay at a hotel for the night.  The next morning we will travel to Rancho el Paraiso.  The ranch is located in San Esteban.  This will be our home for the week.  On Friday, June 29th we will begin our trip back to the airport.  On our way back, we’ll get a chance to see more of Honduras (the details are still being worked out).  We will fly out of Honduras on Sunday, July 1, and arrive back in Louisville late that evening.

During our stay, our team will travel to a village where we will lead Vacation Bible School, mix and pour concrete for floors, latrines, room additions, and pilas (similar to a water trough).  We will always have a medical person with us at all times, and a physician and medical clinic is available at the ranch.
