Attendance at one Commissioning Information Meeting is required for all seminarians and/or licensed local pastors who are applying for a change of status (commissioning). Materials will be provided about pre-work that will be submitted to the Board of Ordained Ministry on January 8th of the following year. If a candidate is planning to apply for commissioning this fall in hopes of being commissioned in June of next year, it is required that he/she attend an information session this August/September. If a candidate would like to attend a meeting for information only, as part of preparation for future steps toward ordination, that is not only permitted, it is recommended. Attendance at these meetings is not a commitment to apply for commissioning, but is designed to help candidates get accurate information about what is required of them in this process.
