Join us for the 36th Boar’s Head and Yule Log Festival, a musical pageant celebrating the arrival of the Christ child and the triumph of good over evil. Amidst caroling, dancing, festivities, sumptuous food, exotic gifts, and help for the poor and needy, this feast for the eyes pleases ears as well with favorite seasonal carols and hymns. A small child dressed as a medieval Sprite opens the performance bearing a candle that symbolizes Christ as the light of the world. The festival culminates with the full cast, choir, and congregation singing Gustav Holst’s “Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence” and the carol “O Come All Ye Faithful,” accompanied by brass and organ. A prelude including choral and instrumental music of the season begins each festival. Professional musicians and performers from around the community and extended region join with some 300 St. Paul members in creating this gift to the city each year. Performance Times December 29 and 30 - 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. December 31 - 6:30 p.m. Dinner Times December 29 and 30 - 6:30 p.m. December 31 - 5:00 p.m.
