Lake Junaluska

The Festival of Wisdom and Grace is an excellent opportunity to join together with others around the Southeast for a time of worship, learning, and rest.  The Festival of Wisdom and Grace will be at Lake Junaluska in North Carolina from July 29-August 1. 

Speakers are Dr. Rodney Powell, who has serves in South Carolina, Missy Buchanan, who co-authored the book, My Story, My Song: Mother-Daughter Reflections on Life and Faith, with Good Morning America’s co-host, Robin Roberts and Robin’s mother, Lucimarian. Dr. Richard Gentzler, who has led several workshops in Kentucky, will also be a special speaker. 

Workshop topics include: 

Understanding the Special Circumstances and Strengths of Grandparents raising Grandchildren
The Different Perspectives on Understanding Alzheimer’s Disease
Caring for the Caregiver
Disaster Relief
Dealing with Busyness
and our own Jane Thibault will be leading Volunteers Aging in Place.

The Older Adult Team would like to encourage people to attend especially those who have never attended. There is a $100 scholarship for the first ten people to register who are first time attenders.  Please contact Tami Coleman at tcoleman@kyumc.org if you are interested in this scholarship.
