Buechel UMC in the Louisville District will host the 2013 Martin Luther King Day Celebration. The day will begin with workshops at 10 a.m. (ET), with lunch to follow at noon. The day will conclude with a worship service beginning at 1:00 p.m. The speaker for the worship service will be Rev. Barbara A. Woods Riles Washington, founder of My Father's Mansion and columnist for the Nashville Pride newspaper. Music for the worship service will be provided by the choir from Amazing Grace Community of Faith.

Presenters for the workshops will be:
Dr. Charles Brockwell – “Martin was more than about Race.” Dr. Brockwell will explore the social issues that Dr. King addressed regarding justice.
Rev. Rosario Picardo – “Ministering to All People.” Rosario will address how to live inclusively as the church in the world today
Rev. Andrew Singh – “Revisiting the Dream for a New Generation.” Andrew will meet with young adults to discuss what King’s legacy means for today.
Dr. Marian McClure Taylor – “Justice lived out.” – As Director of Kentucky Council of Churches, Marian will share how churches are living out the dream through legislative issues.
Members of Justice and Advocacy Team – “Through the Roof Advocates” – a case study of how we can be advocates for justice and mercy for today
