Led By: Dr. Richard Gentzler, Jr., Director of the Center on Aging and Older Adult Ministries, General Board of Discipleship, UMC

America is aging and many United Methodist congregations are "graying". It's important for churches to recognize that older adults represent an opportunity for the church, not a problem. However, few congregations are fully prepared to engage in intentional ministry with older adults. This workshop will help leaders gain a new perspective about aging and older adults. The workshop will cover four important areas of aging and ministry concerns: myths and realities of aging; spirituality and aging; Boomers and aging; and older adult ministry models.
