Centennial Celebration and Restoration Update
October 11, 2009 has been set for our Centennial Celebration with Bishop Lindsey Davis speaking. It is our hope to have much of the restoration completed by that time. We have a bequest set aside for the painting of $22,000, but it will cost $40,000 or more. This is because we do more than just paint the sanctuary. All the woodwork will be treated and polished and the plaster needs to be repaired in places before painting. We can save money by doing the lower woodwork and pews ourselves as well as paint the smaller rooms off the sanctuary. We can also paint the outside window frames. So much needs to be done in this next year. Some requires work, some requires our gifts. Hopefully we can at least do the front steps. You have seen the 100 Wonderful Women and Amazing Men campaign advertised. This is just one way to meet some of this need. Obviously, any gift to the restoration fund will be appreciated. Also, how about a fund raiser? This could be anything by anyone or any group in the church. Thanks in advance for what you feel led to do.
