Training for Church Leaders
(Basic Lay Speaker Ministries Course)

Is God Calling You?

Is God Calling You to teach, to lead, to follow?
Is God Calling You to be a stronger leader in His church?
Is God Calling You to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ?
Is God Calling You to witness your faith to non-believers, doubters, cynics?
Is God Calling You to be His disciple and to bring others to Christ?
Is God Calling You to live your faith?

Equip yourself to serve as a better servant of God, a stronger United Methodist, a stronger leader in your church and community by attending the two day seminar Living Your Faith, April 19th and 26th. The leadership training empowers you to Proclaim the Gospel: through teaching; leadership; service; witnessing; personal lifestyle; by growing your personal faith; and if you wish, when called, to preach or lead worship. As an added benefit, those who are recommended by their local church and who satisfactorily complete the two-day course will be qualified as Local Church Lay Speakers - A commitment of service we urge everyone to consider.

Certified Lay Speakers Bonnie Burks Gray, J. Henry Duncan, and Kirk Hudson will be leading the seminar derived from the Lay Speaking Ministries Basic Course. Your speakers’ gifts, experiences, talents will give you a uniquely broad perspective to learning to “Live Your Faith.” Gray, a business consultant/trainer has nearly 40 years experience in leadership roles in journalism, marketing and management. Duncan has educated and assisted clients across Kentucky as a University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Employee. Hudson, basketball official and retired school teacher, is participating in the ministerial studies program. All are active in their local churches and have held multiple leadership roles in their church and community.
