ANNUAL ARCHIVES and HISTORY SEMINAR FOR 2017—Sunday June 11, 2017

Presentations on the AME Church –one of the United Methodist Church’s sibling denominations in the world of Methodism.
From Western Kentucky University’s Department of History
Dr. John Hardin---Will present an overview of the AME or African Methodist Episcopal Church
Dr. Selena Sanderforer---Will present some background on AME Bishop Henry McNeil Turner and the Colonization movement. It should be noted that Bishop Turner was a chaplain in the Union Army during the Civil War.
It should be noted the Bishop Richard Allen the founder of the AME was honored with a US Postage Stamp in February 2016 on his founding of the
AME Church.
