Shelley Nelson

This two-day training will be led by our keynote speaker, Jacob Armstrong, founding pastor of Providence United Methodist Church, six-year-old church in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee with 1,000 people worshipping each week. Providence’s vision is to see those who feel disconnected from God and the church find hope, healing, and wholeness in Jesus Christ. Jacob is passionate about what he calls “Worship without Walls,” taking God’s love beyond the walls of a building to places of need in the community and world. Jacob is also the author of several books, including The New Adapters: Shaping Ideas to Fit Your Congregation.

We will also hear from Craig Catlett, Training and Development Specialist at United Methodist Communications, who will be presenting a Branding Toolkit for Congregations. Craig holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Religion and a Master’s Degree in Communication. Before coming to work for United Methodist Communications, Craig taught interpersonal communication, public speaking and business and professional communication for Western Kentucky University. Craig has a background in ministry and teaching classes online and now combines his past experiences to serve The United Methodist Church.

David H. Bowles will be bringing us greetings from the Kentucky United Methodist Foundation, of which he has been president since 2007. David has earned degrees from Stanford and Harvard and has worked in education, business, health care systems and non-profit social services. David was the development director for The Salvation Army in Central Kentucky for 16 years and then served as the development director for the KY United Methodist Homes for Children.
