Honduras

The Kentucky Conference of the United Methodist Church has been involved in beginning  United Methodist ministry in Honduras since 1997 (following a devastating hurricane.) A retired Methodist Bishop from Cuba saw the need in this poor country and began a ministry there. Several churches in our conference began to take Volunteer in Mission (VIM) trips to Honduras.  The ministry and churches have grown over the years and VIM groups continue to visit and work on medical teams, construction, water purification and church starts.  Our own Jennifer Davis (Bishop Davis' wife) takes a conference team down every year.

To learn how your church can be involved or how you personally can support this blessed work, go to the General Board of Global Ministries website. You can also speak to our conference coordinator of Volunteers In Mission, John Kalz, or the SEJUMVIM website.
