Aldersgate Camp names Director of Operations

Haley Andes has been named Director of Operations at Aldersgate Camp and Retreat Center. Her first day on the job will be March 21.
Andes, 27, is currently Associate Director of Build Inclusion Inc., of Lexington. Previously, she was part of the summer staff at Aldersgate from 2013-2015, including serving as Summer Program Director during her third year.
“I am very honored and excited to have been chosen to serve as the new Director of Operations at Aldersgate,” Andes said. “Camp has always held such a special place in my heart, as it played a vital role in my own faith and personal development. I am looking forward to working with everyone and being a part of cultivating an atmosphere where people can come and experience the abundance of Christ!”
Andes has a bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation Administration from Eastern Kentucky University, with concentrations in Management/Programming and Therapeutic Recreation, and a Master’s of Business Administration from Northern Kentucky University, with an emphasis in Leadership and Innovation. She is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.
“After an exhaustive search, it was refreshing to find an applicant like Haley,” said Warren Hopper, Executive Director of Camp & Retreat Ministries for the Kentucky Annual Conference. “She has prepared herself well for this position through her experience, her education, and service.
“This is her dream job, and I believe Aldersgate will be blessed by her passion, commitment, abilities, and her faith. I look forward to working with her as God continues to use Aldersgate to introduce campers to Jesus, nurture their faith, and prepare them to serve.”
Rev. William Moore, The Conference’s Director of Connectional Ministries, added: “In Haley we see a leader who will grow the ministry of Aldersgate Camp helping many children, youth, and adults grow into passionate spiritual disciples.”
Andes, who lives in Georgetown, Kentucky, also interned with Lexington Parks and Recreation in the summer of 2017. She has a 5-year-old son, Bryan.
Andes replaces Dave Cohn, who served as Director at Aldersgate from 2013 until December 2021, when he left to become Director of Holston Presbytery Camp and Retreat Center in Banner Elk, North Carolina.
