Wesley Foundation Attends Agape Wilderness Retreat

March 09, 2015

The University of Louisville Wesley Foundation (a.k.a. The Gathering) organized a retreat a couple of weeks ago. Fifteen of our students attended the two-day event at Agape Wilderness Retreat which is located 45 minutes away from campus. The purpose for this retreat was to spend the weekend learning to listen to God’s voice through prayer, and to share our faith. At the end of the retreat, students and the pastor came up with strategies to allow prayer to be at the very center of our Thursday night meetings. Also, our students have now scheduled time to go with one another around campus to share their faith with other students.

I want to invite you to join in what God is doing on campus through our ministry by supporting our new internship ministry called Protege. Our plan is to create a part-time paid position for a student who has a calling for ministry. The Protege Ministry will be a great opportunity for students to explore their call to ministry while helping shape a culture of discipleship making through the Gathering. The yearly salary will be $12,000. This student will commit to serve within our ministry for one year. Our target is to fundraise half of the salary and the student will fundraise the other half.

God is doing great things in and through the Gathering. Thank you, every one of you, for your prayers and financial support. Our prayer is to be the movement of Jesus, transforming the world through loving God and people.
