Smithson named Interim Director Camp Loucon

May 09, 2023

We are excited to announce that Greg Smithson has been hired as the Interim Director of Camp Loucon.

Greg has been employed with Camp Loucon since 2016 as both summer staff for four summers and then as program staff from May 2022 until the present. In addition to working at Camp Loucon, Greg has served as a Camp Coordinator for the Christian Appalachian Project.

Greg is a proud graduate of Lindsey Wilson College, where he earned degrees in Recreation, Tourism and Sports Management, and Business Administration.

He is a certified lifeguard instructor and holds a Lifeguard / CPR / First Aid / AED certificate.

Greg possesses excellent leadership skills, a humble yet deep spiritual foundation, and – most of all – a love for Loucon.

The Kentucky Annual Conference is excited to have Greg at the helm. Summer camp is a significant and impactful ministry of the Kentucky Annual Conference.  Hundreds of children and youth attend our camps and not only have a good time but experience the love and grace of Jesus. Our camps provide a safe and engaging environment for young people to learn, grow and take the next steps in faith. Many of our clergy and lay leadership were impacted by camp as young people. We look forward to Greg continuing our great tradition of providing excellent, safe, and Christ-centered summer camp at Camp Loucon.

Please welcome him and support him as he leads in this vital ministry area.
