River City UMC Launch

October 18, 2015
Today a new church officially launched in the Heartland District.  River City United Methodist Church, a campus of St. Matthews UMC, held a service today that will start their regular weekly services at 2303 Greene Way in Jeffersontown, KY.  River City UMC offers a contemporary setting ..."where people experience TRUE COMMUNITY through the LOVE of JESUS CHRIST."

Over 100 people were in attendance as Eliza Love read from Philippians 2:12-18 and Rev. Derek Robinette gave his sermon on "BAE - Before Anything Else."  The message that God loves you completely and desires an active and growing relationship with you reinforces the concept of "BAE - Before Anything Else" when it comes to your relationship with God.  The Ogden family shared their testimony and reaffirmation of faith and a generous offering was collected along with a special offering for the flood victims of the South Carolina.

After worship, more time was shared in the celebration of launching River City UMC.  there were t-shirts, water bottles, and pizza for everyone.  The after worship time was a great opportunity for everyone to get to know the other members of the congregation even more.  It will be exciting to see what great things lie ahead for River City UMC.
