Purdom Named Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations at Kentucky Wesleyan College
Owensboro, Ky. – Kirk Purdom became the new Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations at Kentucky Wesleyan College on July 1. Purdom was Director of Development at Middle Tennessee State University and has also served as Director of Leadership Giving at the University of Tennessee and Major Gifts Officer at the University of Mississippi.
Purdom was responsible for directing a comprehensive development program at Middle Tennessee. He successfully reorganized development efforts resulting in a significant increase in the endowment and doubling alumni participation in annual giving.
He is a graduate of Owensboro High School and the University of Mississippi. His father, Dr. Ray Purdom, was a long-time Professor of Physics and Academic Dean at Kentucky Wesleyan College, where he also served for one year as Interim President.
“The Kentucky Wesleyan campus was my playground as a child,” said Purdom. “I ran up and down the halls of the Administration Building, and now my office will be located there. I’m excited about being a part of the College. It has always had a special place in my heart.”
“We are thrilled that Kirk Purdom is coming home to Owensboro and Kentucky Wesleyan,” said incoming President Cheryl King. “His knowledge and experience will be a tremendous asset as we move forward.”
