Generous United Methodists Give from Their Hearts

Saturday, June 12

As the Kentucky Annual Conference came to an end, a big surprise was announced.  At the beginning of the year, Bishop Lindsey Davis announced a goal that he wanted the conference to reach with our Mission Offering. The cabinet set a goal of $100,000, more than had ever been collected for a mission offering. The people of the Kentucky Conference responded with more love and generosity than even the wildest dreams could imagine. Conference Treasurer Michael Watts states, “ I am so grateful to the people and churches of the Kentucky Annual Conference for the Annual Conference Mission Offering of over $200,000 to benefit the ministries of the of the Red Bird Missionary Conference. To God be the glory.”  Truly God has smiled on the partnership between the Kentucky Annual Conference and the Red Bird Missionary Conference.

RED BIRD MISSIONARY CONFERENCE
BEVERLY, KENTUCKY

To the Districts, Churches, Groups and Individuals of the Kentucky Annual Conference

Dear Friends,
On behalf of the Red Bird Missionary Conference, the Mission, Henderson Settlement and The Bennett Center, I want to express our sincere gratitude for your wonderful outpouring of support through the Mission offering which was received at the Kentucky Annual Conference last week.  What I am sure will be over $200,000 when all funds are collected, will be of great help to all the work that each of us endeavor to do for the work of the Kingdom of God.

Now that our Partnership has been formally initiated, we look forward to what God will do through all of us as we minister together all over the great Commonwealth of Kentucky. This offering will help some work continue and other dreams begin to come to reality. What we accomplish in the future remains to unfold, but by God’s help we will reach thousands of people with the Word of God and meet the many needs of people that we encounter each day.

We look forward to seeing many of you come and visit us, come and work with us and come to join us in the work of God in this part of Appalachia.  Please know how grateful we are with your generosity, and let us all join in praising God for his goodness.

Sincerely,

Rev. Farley Stuart, Superintendent of the Red Bird Missionary Conference
