Red Bird Youth in Mission in Kentucky Conference

Youth from all over the Red Bird Missionary Conference traveled together to participate in a weekend of service in the Kentucky Conference. This event was part of the partnership between the Kentucky and Red Bird Conferences.  The youth spent the weekend working at an inner city mission called Portland Promise, where they set up and prepared a thanksgiving meal, distributed Boxes of Love, and spent a lot of the afternoon picking up trash, raking leaves and spreading mulch.

The youth were given the opportunity to see a real dinner theater and then to worship at Christ Church United Methodist in Louisville with hundreds of others on Sunday morning. The trip was an eye opener for many of the youth, and most are excited to go and do missions again. The Red Bird Missionary Conference youth were very grateful to the Kentucky Conference districts that sponsored a portion of this trip.  It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for everyone.
