Mrs. Louise Short Celebrates 105 Years

Approximately 150 family members and friends gathered at McKendree Village Towers in Hermitage, Tenn., to celebrate the 105^th birthday of Mrs. Louise Short, widow of former Kentucky Conference Bishop Roy Short. Mrs. Short was joined by two of her three children and three of her grandchildren. Bishop Robert Spain, a retired Kentucky Annual Conference bishop, and his wife, Syble, were also in attendance, as was the current Tennessee Conference Bishop, Richard Wills. During the festivities, Mrs. Short was presented with an honorary degree from the University of Louisville by her son Riley Short. Mrs. Short had left the university prior to graduating in order to assist her husband in his ministry.
