Kentucky Wesleyan Launches Piano Outreach

June 21, 2011

Kentucky Wesleyan College is launching a new music program. Piano students will travel to local assisted care and other community facilities to perform for the residents.  Called “Panther Pianists,” this program will showcase pianists in solos and duets for 40-minute programs.  Dr. Diane Earle is the director.  The schedule includes fifteen performances beginning this summer. Facilities include Fern Terra, Elizabeth Munday Senior Center, Wendell Foster’s Campus, Park Regency and Heritage Place.

Earle has played at assisted care facilities several times each month for the past three years and thought it would be great to involve students as well.  “It is win-win for everyone.  The students and residents will enjoy music and share smiles,” she states.  For additional information, contact Earle at 270-852-3617.
