MSU Wesley Foundation Wins Student Organization of the Year
The Morehead State University Wesley Foundation, also known as the Methodist Student Center, won "Student Organization of the Year" during the 2011 Spring semester. Each year the student body is polled for their selection of Student Organization of the Year. Other organizations nominated for the award this year are Allyance (gay/lesbian/straight "alliance"), the College Democrats, and the Kentucky Education Association, a social/fraternal organization for those majoring in education.
Wesley Foundation Director, Rev. Drew McNeill, reports that both he and the students were "blown away," not just with winning the award but by even being nominated.
Upon learning of the nomination, Wesley Foundation Student Amy Appelman from Maysville, KY/Maysville Trinity UMC stated, "Wow, what a mix! We're literally right in the 'thick' of it by being nominated, aren't we?"
McNeill replied, "Yes, and I think that's EXACTLY where Jesus Christ would want us to be - 'in the thick of it.’”
He went on to say, “So, glory to God in the highest! And thanks to everyone in our Kentucky Annual Conference who supports our Wesley Foundation's ministry through their prayers, gifts, and service."
