Kavanaugh Names Interim Director
David Sparks, Associate Director of Connectional Ministries with Young People, would like to announce that Rev Beverly Maguffee is stepping down as the director of Kavanaugh Life Enrichment Center. David has issued the following statement, "Bev is pursuing other avenues of ministry, and taking this spring to ready for that transition. Bev’s last day in the Kavanaugh Life Enrichment Center office will be Friday, February 24. Bev has been the site director at Kavanaugh since 2003, and I know that you will want to join me in thanking her for her 9 years of faithful service to this ministry of making Kavanaugh “holy ground.” We will be announcing an 'open house' reception at the Holloway Center and Conference Offices to celebrate Bev’s ministry in coming days".
To fill the position of interim director, the Kavanaugh Executive Committee has met with Conference Connectional Ministries Staff and the Camp & Retreat Chair to announce Rev Don Craig in a part-time role. Don served school administration in Jefferson and Oldham Counties for more than 30 years before he and his wife Jackie heard God’s call to the international mission field while on a Walk to Emmaus at Kavanaugh. Upon retiring they then served 15 years in Costa Rica as the retreat directors at Centro Metodista. Since their furlough home, they have found the joy of working in their home church of Crestwood UMC. Don is one of the Associate Pastors at Crestwood. Don and Jackie come with a great love and working knowledge of the Kavanaugh Life Enrichment Center. Please take some time soon to welcome Don and Jackie to this position.
