A groundbreaking ceremony was held August 18 at Seminario Wesleyano de Venezuela (Wesleyan Seminary of Venezuela). The seminary is building a medical clinic on its campus. Some of the money for this project came from the Kentucky Annual Conference. Half of the 2012 Conference Mission Offering was donated to the seminary’s clinic. The rest of the money from the offering was given to MIHOW (Maternal Infant Health Outreach Worker) programs at Henderson Settlement and Red Bird Mission.

Over $70,000 was collected in the offering on June 12 at the Annual Conference Mission Celebration. Seminary President, Rev. Dr. Warren Lathem, preached at the service.

Part of the 2011 Mission Offering also went to the seminary. That money added 15,000 liters of water storage at the seminary, started an extension program with students planting new congregations, and provided for a new Masters program that will begin in January 2013.
