Settle Memorial Begins Wednesday Afternoon Service

November 02, 2012

Settle Memorial United Methodist Church (Owensboro District) has begun a mid-week afternoon worship service/ Bible study on Wednesday afternoons at 4:00 p.m.  Service is held in the Church’s Chapel, at the corner of 4th and Daviess Street. The first service was held on September 12th and on average draws about a dozen people each week.

The service includes Scripture, prayer, fellowship, singing, Holy Communion, music by Diane Earle, and discussion led by Pastor Darren Brandon. The church is offering mid-week worship that still enables people to be home before dark.  Everyone is welcome. People are encouraged to enter from the Daviess Street door, which is also wheelchair accessible.  Worshippers are also invited to stay for church dinner at 4:45 in the church ROC; the cost for dinner is $5 per person.
Pastor Darren Brandon states, “This mid-week service is open to everyone.  We have designed this 45 minute service for those who, for a number of reasons, may welcome a late-afternoon worship experience. I hope you’ll join us!”
