Belize It

September 10, 2014

In February of 2014, fourteen people from the Kentucky Annual Conference representing seven churches went to continue the work on phase 2 of the Belmopan High School.  The trip was such a success that in 2015 we are returning to Belize November 7-14. The mission team will work with Jamie & Lisa Williams, who are United Methodist missionaries from Kentucky now serving in the Central American country of Belize. The trip is open to persons from any Kentucky Conference church.

The team will be working with the Methodist Church of Belize to help complete the construction of the Methodist High School in the country's capital of Belmopan, as well as building relationships between Methodists in Kentucky and Belize.   While having some team members with construction skills would be helpful, no special skills are necessary for the trip.  However, a person must be able and willing to do manual labor.  Total cost for the trip, per person will be about $1800 ($1400 plus $400 fundraising for supplies).
To apply to be a part of the team, please fill out the application(download application), a medical release form (download medical release form), and an authorization for a background check (download release of information form).
Return the application by mail to the address listed on the application by June 30. Team Leaders are Bryan Mullins ( and Tami Coleman (, Associate Director of Connectional Ministries. Please contact Bryan or Tami Coleman for additional information or questions.
