Wesley Village Celebrates 2014 "Heroes, Saints and Legends!"

December 02, 2014

Close to 500 friends and supporters of Wesley Village Senior Living Community attended the 17th Annual Heroes, Saints and Legends Award Banquet held at Lexington’s Embassy Suites on October 7th.   Two couples were honored for their lifetime of service:  Mel and Jean Bowdan, former Asbury College/KY UMC Annual Conference leaders; and J.B. and Bette Crouse, long-time missionary leaders with OMS International.  J.B. was informed of this honor before his unexpected death on June 22, 2014.

A devotional reflection was presented by Asbury University President, Dr. Sandra Gray;  special music by the Asbury University Men’s Glee Club and A Firm Foundation Gospel Quartet from the Wilmore Free Methodist Church.  Also featured was a presentation by Wesley Village’s national consultant for long-term care “small homes,” Dr. Jude Rabig.

All proceeds for the evening benefited Wesley Village’s “Celebrate the Difference Campaign” to build more small homes for licensed long-term health and memory care.  For more information on the event and the campaign, please call Tim Layton, V.P. for Development, at (859) 858-3865 ext. 262.
