Alene Bernice Davis Dicken
Alene Bernice Davis Dicken, formerly of Monticello, Kentucky and a resident of Wesley Village Senior Living in Wilmore, Kentucky was born on June 28, 1938 and went home to be with the Lord February 13, 2023 reaching the age of 84 years.
She was born to the late Ernie and Edna Cooper Davis and united in marriage on December 21, 1963 to Thomas E. Dicken of Albany, Kentucky.
She is survived by one sister, Peggy Fuller and two brothers, John T. Davis and Jeffery Davis.
Along with her parents and her husband Tom, she was preceded in death by one sister, Alice McCutchen.
Alene was involved in Star Hope # 183 of the Eastern Star, DAV Auxiliary, was a lifetime member of the Wayne County Historical Museum and was the First Lady of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky and Grand Masters Conference of North America.
Alene earned her master's degree in cosmetology, managed several beauty salons and a wig shop where she styled wigs.
She loved to embroider, quilt, and was a perfected seamstress. She played piano at most of the churches her husband pastored, and she always wanted to be involved. She loved working with children and the church members.
In 1982 she went on a mission trip to Haiti and returned with several souvenirs that are now displayed at our local Wayne County Historical Museum.
