Connie Lou (Woodrum) Craig

Connie Lou Craig, 63Connie Lou (Woodrum) Craig was born in Albany, Kentucky, on February 7, 1957. She entered Heaven’s gates on Friday, September 18, 2020.

Connie was a member of the Eastern Star (429), United Methodist Women, Church Women United, as well as a dual member of the Vine Grove United Methodist Church and Concord United Methodist Church. She also held a variety of positions within the United Methodist Conference. She answered the call into ministry alongside her husband. As a preacher’s wife and true steward, she served all of their church appointments with fervor, grace, and love.

Driven by Christ’s example, Connie devoted her life to helping others. Connie taught Sunday school, children’s church, and Vacation Bible School. In addition, she was a choir member, caroler, food pantry volunteer, and trunk-or-treat organizer. She gave of herself through her leadership and participation in nursing home ministry, prison ministry, creating and delivering food baskets, and compiling kits for soldiers.

Connie’s highest priority were the people in her life. Connie was a tireless advocate for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She lived her life for others, focusing heavily in her later years on caregiving, her children, and her grandchildren.

Connie loved the world around her. She soaked up the beauty of the ocean, sunshine, waterfalls, and the flowers all around us. She loved adventures, traveling, and all things new. Of course, Connie’s fudge is legendary. Each time we share it, Connie’s joy, warmth, and love will be remembered.

In her youth, Connie was homecoming princess at Clinton County High School (1972) and Miss Clinton County Fair shortly after. She was also an enthusiastic bowling league member and volleyball player.

Through her career, Connie held various positions in customer service, hospitality, and advertising. In each role, whether she was a manager or server, Connie excelled through her natural connection to the people around her. As always, she brought her generosity, love, and joyous energy to every job she had.

Connie is survived by her spouse of 38 years, Rev. Johnny E. Craig and her children: Bo Dyer, Misty Nicholas (David), April Craig-Flood (James), and Johnnie Brown (Charles). She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Tyler (18), Craig (16), George (15), Loren (13), Jeremiah (10), Eleanor (4), and Lonnie (newborn), as well as her sister, Ellen Cope (Lane) and several nieces and nephews. Connie was predeceased by her parents, Roscoe and Ruby Woodrum, as well as her brother Lonnie and sisters, Flonnie and Wonda Sue.
