Dorothy Lee Rountree

Dorothy Lee Jones Rountree, 92, of Columbia, Kentucky, widow of Rev. William M. Rountree, died May 13, 2019, at her residence. 

Born Feb. 1, 1927, in Louisville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Robbie Lee Baker Jones. Mrs. Rountree was a member of the United Methodist Women.

She and her late husband served churches in the Bowling Green-Cave City-Columbia area. Rev. Rountree retired in 1985 and died in 2003.

Survivors include a daughter, Angie Irvin of Columbia; a son, Donnie Rountree (Debbie) of Louisville; grandchildren Allison Hadley (Clayton), Brandon, Michael & Scott Rountree, Chris Rountree (Heather), Heather DeWeese (Chuck), Erica Higginbotham (Patrick), Wes Irvin (Andrea), Stephen Gardner (Tara) and Lauren Motto (Jake); several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Joseph C. Rountree and his wife Beverly; a granddaughter, Sarah Irvin Gardner; and a sister, Martha Jones.

A celebration of life ceremony was held May 16, 2019, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, with burial the following day in Resthaven Cemetery in Louisville.
