Mayron Claypool Sharber

Date of Death: March 20, 2019

Mayron Claypool Sharber, 85, of Bowling Green,  wife of Rev. Harold Sharber,  died at Bowling Green Medical Center on March 20, 2019.
Mayron was born March 4, 1934, and was the daughter of Earl and Effie Leona (Peggy) Claypool from the Greenhill Community in Warren County, Kentucky.

Mayron and Harold wed June 1, 1951 – a marriage of nearly 68 years.

In addition to Harold, Mayron is survived by three sons, Lewis (Kitty) of Louisville, Keith (Vickie) of Owensboro, and Terrill (Jennifer) of Bowling Green; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Hendrick (Ronnie) of Bowling Green. She was extremely proud of all her “grands.”

Beyond the Sharber family circle, Mayron loved the church families at Harold’s appointments over his ministerial career that spanned nearly 50 years. Mayron was often active in the church choirs, children’s programs and craft events. She was proud of the many lifetime friendships forged from the various church families.

Mayron was meticulous with her work or any project she undertook – working on the family farm before her marriage, her service as a nurse technician, cooking decorating or crafts. For anything Mayron deemed to be worthy of her time, she took immense pride in delivering a quality and precise outcome – even down to the placement of an ornament on the Christmas tree, maintaining a family photo album, care for a plant, or the needlework for an afghan.

A service of remembrance was held March 23, 2019, officiated by Dr. Jay Smith, who eloquently told the story of Mayron’s life. Burial was in Bowling Green’s Fairview Cemetery, and expressions of sympathy in Mayron’s honor were donated to the Kentucky United Methodist Children’s Homes.
